FAQ
STORAGE
Helmets and goggles just like ski boots should be stored out of direct sunlight. No basements, attics, sheds or garages where the temperature fluctuates. This repeated change in temperature will adversely affect the foam in your goggles and helmet.
HELMETS
- Check your helmet before the start of every season. Remove the velcro lining and ensure there are no indentations or cracks forming in the foam. If your helmet is five years or older, this is extremely important because nothing lasts forever and materials start to break down. You only get one noggin', and it's important to protect it.
- If you fall and have an impact, inspect your helmet. If there is a noticeable dent on the exterior of the helmet, throw it away and get a new one. It did its job, and that specific area will no longer protect your noggin' as it should. Also, it's a good idea to remove the velcro lining and inspect the interior of the helmet. Again, if there are signs of impact like cracking, throw that helmet away. It protected your head. It did it's job. Time for a new helmet. **Contact Pret for a crash replacement discount.
GOGGLES
- "If they're not on your face, they're in the case." Don't get unnecessary scratches on your lens if you don't have to. When you're not wearing your goggles, put them in the bag they come with.
- To clean your lens, use only a proper lens cloth or eyeglass wipe. T-shirts, tissues, napkins, etc. will scratch your lens.
- If you were out in a snowstorm, rain or you just run HOT make sure you take your goggles off your helmet and leave them out to dry overnight. If you don't there is potential for your goggles to fog up.
